Etté reimagined Carl Hansen & Søn’s Clerkenwell showroom for Craft Week with Soft Focus, an installation-led exhibition exploring the spatial and perceptual impact of colour. Lead by the creative brief centred around JOY, we explored the idea of expansion through the lens of colour, light and perception. Inspired by the way a prism refracts white light into a spectrum of colour, we created an immersive environment that examined how colour shifts and evolves through movement, material and changing viewpoints.

At the heart of the project was a palette of 14 colours, developed in response to the 14 elements that make up Hans J. Wegner's iconic Wishbone Chair.Through suspended Kvadrat textiles, tactile architectural finishes and layers of colour, we invited visitors to experience colour as an immersive and emotional force that shapes atmosphere, perception and connection. The result was a space that encouraged a slower, more sensory way of seeing—revealing how colour can transform not only what we see, but how we feel within a space.
